Leah Hextall is an awful play by play announcer. I saw the highlight of the Golden Knights game last night (go Phil!) but I gotta say her play by play is terrible due to her terrible voice. Oh go jump in a lake. Hextall might be my new favorite, actually, though it took a few minutes before I got comfortable with her. Hextall has flunked some basic NHL-level broadcaster skills, like always knowing the names of everyone on the ice, even as lines change on the fly. That's not easy, but it's expected of an NHL broadcaster. Two things to add though. 1) She could get better. Let's stay open to that.
